“I often tell people that I am an ex-drag queen, ex-hooker, ex-IV drug user, ex-high-risk youth, and current postoperative transsexual woman who is HIV positive and simply a human being seeking my humanity.”
Connie Norman, AIDS & Trans Rights Activist

Named after Connie Norman, the “AIDS Diva” and fearless transgender AIDS activist, the Connie Norman Empowerment Center is a space created to uplift and affirm the Trans community. Our unique model brings together resources, training, support, and medical services for transgender people living in Los Angeles.

Opened in 2021, the center serves as a home for Trans-led organizations, activists, artists, and community leaders working to create lasting change. With an on-site AHF Healthcare Center, visitors can also access HIV treatment, primary care, and supportive services, regardless of ability to pay.
